They say every Indian has a Bihari inside him.
That version might not be silent, but sure is pleasant.
The Music of this movie is SURE to bring out that version out of every Indian!
We've all heard "Jiya Tu" from the Trailers and the promos.
And there's a reason to it as well.
It is the only track out of the whole album with the LEAST Uttar Pradeshi touch in it.
It's more of Rock beats throughout with Bhojpuri lyrics in the song. It sure does sound great but still fails to make it better if not worse.
The album is a STAGGERING total of 14 Songs of a 56.6 Minute duration!
If you're not a fan of monotonus looped-in choruses and cultural tunes then you can really finish listening to the whole album in less that 7 minutes! (We all love the NEXT button, don't we!)
I really don't recommend you listen to this album separately. It will make sense ONLY when you watch the movie. As a matter of fact, it manages to annoy you if you play this album in loop.
The movie is based on a serious theme, and to be honest, the songs really sound funny. They depict carefree nature of the bandits and how they do things right under the Government's noses.
The general idea of the Music is to explain the nature of work of the two Gangs of Wasseypur. Arch-rivalry between two Powerhouses of Dhanbad and how the men dedicate their lives to Revenge and cold-blood murders. With anger and rivalry going on since generations, killing is all you can expect.
One real disappointment was "Keh Ke Lunga" which is the tagline of the Movie. It sure is going to be one of the most famous Dialogues to be said on Screen. Bajpai is a very talented actor and he is SO going to rock Sardar Khan. I was really expecting it to be a major hit, one of the best of the album. It turned out to be NO different.
It all sounds like Folk Music at first till they start using a lot of slang in the lyrics.
One of the very good things about this movie is that it's not mainstream Bollywood.
So isn't the Music, but that doesn't mean anything that's not mainstream is always good.
Gangs of Wasseypur, the Music has been a disappointment. No variation, just a lot, A LOT of Bhojpuri in the songs. They could've made the Music a thousand times better.
Also if you can name which song is which in a couple of listens, you're either the composer, or DEFINITELY God.
I really hope the Music doesn't screw up the 5 Hour-long movie.
I don't think it will, as Gangs of Wasseypur is something we all here at BombayNerds recommend.
It is bound to win many awards, but for it's movie-related aspects.
None for the Music, in my opinion.
I sadly give this one a 4./10.

Deleteand the hunter song is about a hunter who is saying that a girl wanted to see his gun and when he takes it out she gets scared..basically that a hunter can't get love :)
