Kasam khoon ki khaai hai...
Sheher nahi...Shanghai Hai!!...

This movie is a Political Thriller and not a romcom..
What you expect out of such a movie is average music, mostly background scores as it is a thriller..


But you're about to be taken on a high pulsating rollercoaster ride!
The album has some really powerful vocalists who carry on the emotion and feelings of the theme entirely on their shoulders and brilliantly indeed!




Vishal-Shekhar are known for their innovations with the instrumentals and it's clearly reflected in each of these tracks. 
The Lyrics are just amazing, strong and bold in places. The general idea is mostly instigative as it calls out to the public for a better India. Corruption free. United and in peace. And all the tracks serve their purpose equally well.

1)Bharat Mata ki Jai : "Sone ki chidiya...dengue malaria.."

As the name suggests, it upholds the pride of our country. Quite literally as it's more of a wake-up call. Simple yet strong lyrics given by Dibakar Banerjee. Lot's of energy with Dhol beats throughout the song and many strong voices in echo. Even a kid can point out that it's Dadlani whose voice really dominates whenever it comes. He's a very powerful vocalist who grips the song and places it together. On it's way of becoming the most famous Ganpati-track this season!
Also there is a remix, but it's nothing different. Remix could've been better.

2)Duaa : "..Ke aa gayi hai laut ke sada.."

Very powerful and mesmerizing. Arijit and Shekhar might be just wonderful singers but Nandni Srikar steals the show here. Swinging with the rhythm her voice just gives you the exact feeling it tries to portray. Spot-on vocals. Good they didn't remix this. We've all loved her in "Bhare Naina" from R.A One and we'll love her here too.

3)Imported Kamariya : "Welcome welcome karti India...jaan le gayi..."

Every hit Indian movie is incomplete without an item-number. This one, serves as an item-number as well as a medium for the deliverance of the core idea behind the movie. Musically it's got better chorus structures and background beats as compared to the other famous numbers. Richa Sharma another brilliant vocalist gives it a flair of boldness. Not the best this album has to offer.

4)Khudaaya : "Main uske bina bepanaah hoon..."

Soft track. When it is featuring Emraan Hashmi it HAS to be a hit. He pulls off soft tracks better than any other actor in Bollywood. It would sound like romantic at first but it totally isn't. It's more of a suspense building track. The chorus entry gives a gentle bump as the background chords come in. Good selection of chords but have heard the progressions before. Since I'm a huge fan of soft music, this was soothing and refreshing. Liked it. Shekhar and Raja Hasan nailed it.
Remix is okay. Actually it kinda spoils the point. But regard-able.

5)Morcha : "Sapno mei jo hai dekha..wo desh banayenge.."

Simple lyrics by Dadlani but very, very powerful song. It really makes you wanna stop reading this, leave your desk and go start rallying against injustice! It encourages the crowd to start fighting for their rights. Just amazing with the Puneri Dhol and the chord background that comes in the chorus. Hasan nails it. And Dadlani as always, commanding and powerful with the vocals. Grips it till the end. It'll be a real powerhouse track in the theaters for sure.
A remix would've been kickass.

6)Mantra Vishnu Sahasranamam (The Thousand Names of Lord Vishnu)

It's a devotional track sung by Srivatsa Krishna. Encouraging but on the lines of spirituality. It's actually a shloka. Fits well enough in the album. And I don't find myself fit enough to rate an ancient shloka so I leave it to your ears.


Overall I think this album is a real powerful deal as it's tracks are about to set benchmarks in the  Bollywood Music Industry. Hope this movie turns out well as I really like Dibakar Banerjee's movies.
And the music is surprisingly kickass.

So this one deserves a good 8.5/10.
