We at Bombay Nerds love blogging and more than blogging we love the internet. The internet though run by brilliant people is owned by people who dictate its access i.e. governments, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), etc. These people often don't understand how the internet really works and end up proposing legislation such SOPA and PIPA. To counter future proposals such as these Reddit's Alexis Ohanian and Fight for the Future have partnered to create the initiative, which will send users code they can implement on their own websites to participate in future online protests. Bombay Nerds has signed up for this moment and in the event of a future anti-internet legislation we will surely participate. Anyone can sign up for this movement right here. The system will work with almost any sort of internet presence, from websites and Tumblr blogs, to YouTube channels and Twitter pages. Joining the IDL won't make you participate in any protests without your consent, the sign up is simply to notify you if and when a protest takes place.
